Abstract:
More than 40% of germany's energy consumption originates in the industrial and the commercial enterprises. Industrial companies are increasingly facing to the problem of rising energy prices for both electricity and fuels. This development reflects the relevance of energy efficiency measures as a strategic success factor in maintaining competitiveness. The energy costs of a company are essentially determined by the process-related basic energy needs, the market prices for energy (including taxes and duties), the structure of its energy carriers or its consumption structure. Comprehensive and correctly executed remediation measures not only lead to the desired energy optimization, but also serve to improve the entire value chain and competitiveness. The result is a "tailor-made specific company suit " with regard to building physics and systems engineering as well as the operating and production costs and therefore the optimum of energetic and economic efficiency. The five groups of efficient energy use measures are: 1. Avoidance of unnecessary consumption 2. Improved efficiency rates 3. Recovery of energy 4. Using renewable energies 5. Energy controlling In general: There is not one special energetic measure which is equally applicable for every company, but there are for each company its specific measures. Energy efficiency has to be understood as an intelligent energy source.
