Abstract:
The following investigation tries to elaborate on the reason why power is not a part of business management studies. The assumption is made that power is a phenomenon that can be observed on an informal level of organisations. However, this level is neglected by business management corporate research which mostly has its focus on formal aspects of the organisation. This will be illustrated with the help of a research paradigm. This paradigm can hardly be recognised in contemporary research literature although being present but not really pronounced. Therefore, general German scientific books of business management studies are used as a reference for proving this paper‘s thesis. In these books the paradigm becomes much more apparent. If power is a phenomenon linked to an informal organisation structure and if this structure is not examined in more detail, then also power is not examined in more detail by researchers.
