Abstract:
Among many modern areas of scientific research, gender issues have attracted close attention of numerous foreign and Russian specialists since the second half of the last century. It should be noted that the study of gender employment issues in individual segments of the labor market is incomplete. For instance, the segment of young highly educated women whose professionalism and qualifications should be demanded by the modern economy has not attracted the attention of specialists yet. In this regard, the relevance of the article is determined by a certain novelty of the problem statement, insufficient elaboration or discussion of scientific and methodological approaches to this aspect of gender issues and the need to find ways to solve these problems by means of improving the situation on the labor market and developing the modern economy as a whole. The purpose of the study is to identify generalized personal assessments of their gender status at the regional level by young women with higher and postgraduate education. Based on the regional research conducted by the author, the article draws conclusions about the gaps in gender education in universities, the appearance of many problems of competitiveness of young women with higher education because of the erroneous choice of a future profession, and the unpreparedness of female university graduates to face segregation and discrimination in the labor market.
