Abstract: Work represents a statement of author's views of a demographic situation in Russia, its influence on a labor market and the employment sphere. The reasons of depopulation of the population, decrease in quality of labor capacity of the country are established, priorities on minimization of negative demographic processes locate. Without denying importance of actions realized now, the author is convinced that there came time to make more radical decisions in interests of correction of the developed demographic situation.
