Abstract: In this article we are talking about the fact that socio-economic inequality in society is a factor contributing to inequality in health and reducing the level of social health of Russian youth. This provision is based on the concept of the mechanisms of communication between health and ine-quality in the social and economic situation. The socio-economic situation, the decline in the standard of living in Russian society adversely affects the social health of the younger generation of Russians. According to the socio-centrist approach, the social health of an individual, a group, is determined through its ability to meet social and economic needs and expectations. Socio-economic inequality means that young people are deprived of the opportunity to achieve their full potential for health, which hampers their access to opportunities for realizing other basic rights of the individual. Activities aimed at overcoming social and economic disparities can be a means of increasing the level of social health, as well as the revival of social cohesion.
