Abstract:
The article is devoted to understanding sports as a sociocultural phenomenon, covering all levels of modern society. The goal of big sport is fundamentally different from the goal of mass sports: it is the achievement of the highest possible sports results or victories in the framework of the largest sports competitions. The current shift in the priorities of the “health preservation” paradigm to the “health formation” paradigm puts the value of sport (both in the sphere of higher achievements and mass scale) to the position of the most promising way of overcoming the social and spiritual crisis of modern society.
