Abstract: The article substantiates the need for regular financial assessment of regional programs for major apartment building renovations to ensure their viability. We show that regional programs are the central element of the modern system of housing stock modernization in Russia, also There are the mandatory contributions of homeowners to apartment buildings and the choice of a method for forming a renovation fund. Assessment of the financial sustainability of the current regional program for apartment building renovations in the Rostov region (using liquidity indicators, financial security with owners 'contributions and an indicator of the number of years of accumulation of funds for renovations) revealed an insufficient short-term liquidity indicator and an insufficient provision of funds from owners' contributions, which creates threats of non-fulfillment of the regional programs in the short and long term.
