Abstract:
The paper presents the characteristics of the organization of water supply in various countries. The institutional structure of this market differs between countries in terms of ownership, organizational and legal forms and sizes of enterprises. In addition, there are a number of multinational companies operating in the water supply and sanitation sector. In the United States, the prevailing trend is socialization, leading to a reduction in the share of private property in the industry. The global trend is the centralization of companies within national economies. Where decentralization was proclaimed as the ultimate goal of reforms, the industry regressed in its development.
