Abstract: Religion is one of the most important factors in the life attitudes of the population. Empirical data show that the surveyed urban population of the Republic in various life situations relies on their own religious beliefs and the commandments of the professed faith. In addition, in identification processes, the religion marker occupies one of the key positions, although a comparison of the results of the study by year shows a decrease in the weight of the religion indicator, however, as well as other signs. In the mass consciousness of the urban population of Dagestan, there is a designation of the important role of the religious component in a person's personal life, and this fact is indicated by respondents regardless of the type of religiosity and attitude to religion.
