Abstract: The article presents a historical overview of the formation and 150-year development of the international research university Paris Institute of Political Science (Sciences Po). The criteria for periodization are identified and the stages of development of the educational and research activities of Sciences Po are analyzed in the context of historical events in the French Republic. The strategic directions of the development of an educational institution in the 21st century are characterized. The transformation of the architecture of the original innovative educational model is described. Recommendations are given for the improvement of master's training in the direction of «Political Science» in the Russian Federation.
