Abstract: In the article, the authors, through a structural and functional approach, considered the relevance and validation of the practices of the program of applied sociological research. The apodictic contribution of the stages of institutionalization of applied sociology as a special branch of science is actualized. The problem field of ontogenesis of heuristic functions of empirical science during the presented time continuum is determined. The methodological analysis of the substantiation of each section of applied sociological research, as well as the concepts of its error forms: subjectivism and research relativity, induced by the program of methods for studying social phenomena, is carried out.
