Abstract: The article attempts to substantiate the demand for a multi -, inter - and transdisciplinary approach to the study of the social phenomenon of international relations and foreign policy as their component. In view of the multidimensional nature of the object of research in the context of the increasingly complex socio-cultural dynamics, the tools of one discipline are insufficient for in-depth analysis. At the same time, the results obtained at the intersection of several sciences, as well as using hybrid disciplines or using a transdisciplinary approach, involving their interactive and reflective interaction, can best satisfy modern scientific demand.
