Abstract: The purpose of this study is to identify innovative risks accompanying the process of introduction of technological innovations by domestic business entities. In the course of this work, we characterized the essence of innovation risks, assessed their role in the development of entrepreneurship, and analyzed the development of Russian business in the conditions of the sanctions impact of the world economy. The scientific novelty of the study consists in identifying a completely new category of innovation risks – external, combining market, technological and geo-economic factors. These are the risks emerging in the conditions of simultaneous globalization of the world economy and its stagnation.
