Abstract: In today's media, media space and scientific research, youth activism is very often considered. The social activism of young people is very often an interdisciplinary study and is considered by scientists at the intersection with such problems as deviation, radicalization, extremist behavior. The authors of this work address the socio-cultural determinants of radical youth. The radicalism of young people, according to the authors of the article, is associated with the age characteristics of various groups of young people, the psycho-emotional state of young people of different age categories, economic instability, value attitudes and orientations, the active influence of the information environment, lack of social experience, unformed social ties, as well as unconstructed identity. Understanding the determinants that influence the radicalization of youth consciousness makes it possible to build the most successful strategies for countering and preventing radical phenomena in the youth environment.
