Abstract: The review considers the multi-author monograph under the editorship of V.S. Maryanov, L.G. Fishman “Russia in the search of ideology: transformation of valuable regulators of modern societies”. The author emphasizes topicality and importance of the given work. In the meantime the author criticizes some conclusions of the monograph, in particular the conclusion about the necessity of complementing world economy with world politics (“ethic world empire”). It is shown that implementing world political ideal is impossible while serious contradictions on the world arena are taking place. The author puts forth a thesis that solving global problems of humanity is possible by efforts of independent countries (Russia as well). It is necessary to purposefully construct a society in which there is need in material wealth and searching for life purpose brings people to the necessity to move towards better future of the whole planet.
