Abstract: It is two years since the beginning of the most serious conflict between Russia and Turkey in modern history. The parties to a conflict could come to an agreement and went to settling the conflict which is the object of the study. The article points out and characterizes the external and internal causes moving Turkey to start the conflict, from regional geopolitical interests of Ankara and Syrian refugees to Kurdish problems and prospects of Constitutional changes. Besides, the author assesses the purposes set by Turkish authorities and the degree of their realization.
