Abstract: This article considers the ways of forming a «new» historical memory in the modern Russian society, implemented in favor, and commissioned by the West. The author studies implemented by falsifying historical events various methods of «rewriting» and «redrawing» the history of our country, which diminish the effect of the achievements of the Russian people with the purpose of manipulating mass consciousness for political purposes. The possibility of overcoming the negative consequences of the impact on the public consciousness of Russian people is analyzed.
