Abstract: Approaches to using objective and subjective indicators of life quality in the region are investigated. The analysis of the structure of the indicators of life quality used in practice of regional government is carried out. Priorities in using indicators of life quality are revealed. It is noted that some indicators are formed under the influence of the factors (personal determinants) which do not depend on administrative decisions. A new group of indicators which makes it possible to increase validity of assessing effectiveness of regional government is offered.
