Abstract: Instead of the procedures for the «birth» of truth in the Athenian square or for revolutionary actions in the center of Paris, retreats have come into the practice of philosophizing as a special form of inquiry, within which interrogation is realized from the outside and from within. The article specifies the particularity of retreat activity as a special form of spiritual practice; the points of contact between retreat and philosophical practices are indicated; the forecast of the future of philosophical retreat is presented.
