Abstract:
The article considers the importance of internationalization of higher education, to be more precise, the importance of increasing competitiveness of exporting Russian educational services by means of using mechanisms of “Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation” (APEC) forum. Despite the persisting priority of analytical work, currently on APEC agenda there is a considerable shift in the direction of considering real aspects connected with educational services (mutual recognition of qualifications, providing and evaluating quality of trans border education, developing the system of accreditation of education providers), which makes it possible to turn the forum into one of the most important grounds for advancing Russian interests in the sphere of international educational cooperation in Asia-Pacific region. Besides, the authors make a comparison of APEC mechanisms with BRICS mechanisms in the sphere of education.
