Abstract: The article analyzes peculiarities of the information society development and the effect of implementing digital technologies in socio-anthropological and political interpretation. The author puts special attention to the appearance of “a man informational”, existing in the split world of real and virtual. It is emphasized that life of a person in the context of the “split” reality on the one hand, opens new horizons for developing a personal potential and makes citizens more active in the political life but, on the other hand, poses threat of losing your own self, opens possibilities for manipulating and deconstructing personality. The author exposes peculiarities of person “integration” into new life conditions. It is underlined that in the context of post-modernism the most appropriate for the manner of narration is “mosaic thinking”, which is characterized by fragmentary nature, sense prevalence, distortion of causality and multitude of contexts. The article considers metamorphoses of the present-day democracy as exemplified by modern Italian state, particularly; the author shows the mechanism of gradual “acquisition” of the state by a legitimately elected politician. The author pays special attention to peculiarities of high technologies which have not only changed the political world but have formed the means making it possible to control an individual’s actions, form his “portrait” on the basis of his acting on the Internet, and, consequently, to elaborate a target-focused strategy and construct his behavior. It is stated that for the purposes of preventing information totalitarianism it is necessary to aim for developing cognitive abilities and media literacy of a person.
