Abstract: The article in the form of a dispute discusses the issues dealt with in the article by A.S. Chuprov, published in the magazine “Socium i vlast'”. The basic idea consists in the personological substantiation of knowledge as an understanding of the reality by a carrier of freedom and responsibility, which is a person.
