Abstract: Categorical names influence people's judgments about unknown phenomena - if an unknown phenomenon is given a name, it is assessed as more stable, having natural reasons for existence. However, it is not known whether this effect is long-term and whether it manifests itself only when the phenomenon is accompanied by a categorical name, or whether it is valid for other linguistic parameters, for example, metaphorical names. This work explores the categorical name for a new situation as a general cognitive factor that can similarly influence judgment and cause certain prejudices about phenomena.
