Working Papers from Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration Abstract: The relevance of the work performed is due to the fact that it is devoted to information support (taking into account regional peculiarities) for achieving the national development goals of Russia, which involves reducing dependence on commodity exports and diversifying the economy of the regions by advancing the development of high-tech, including import-substituting industries. The subject of the study is the current levels and dynamics of the processes of diversification of the economy of the regions of the Russian Federation and labor productivity, taking into account the comparative levels in the regions of innovation activity and export orientation of specialized economic activities. Achieving the goal of determining the nature and degree of influence of the processes of diversification of the structure of the economy in the regions of the Russian Federation on the level and dynamics of labor productivity in them is based on solving the following tasks: analysis of scientific and methodological approaches within the framework of foreign and domestic experience in assessing the degree of diversification of the national and regional economy and its impact on economic growth; development of a methodological approach to assessing the impact of diversification of the structure of the economy in the regions on the level and dynamics of labor productivity in them, taking into account the peculiarities of statistical reporting in the regional context; comparative analysis and comprehensive assessment of the dynamics of the level of economic diversification and labor productivity from 2010 to 2021 in the regions of the Russian Federation, taking into account their structural and sectoral typology; development of proposals on the main directions of structural changes in the economy of the regions of the Russian Federation of various types and the main mechanisms of their state support. The scientific novelty of the work is determined by the fact that within the framework of a comprehensive assessment of the impact of economic diversification on labor productivity, the structural and sectoral typology of the regions of the Russian Federation was used (according to data for 2021) and estimates of the target characteristics of the study were carried out on the basis of a detailed structure of economic activities for the period from 2010 to 2021. The research methods include: system analysis, factor analysis, index method, grouping method, etc. As the results of the study, a comparative analysis and a comprehensive assessment of the processes of economic diversification and labor productivity dynamics in the regions of the Russian Federation from 2010 to 2021 were carried out, proposals were developed on the main directions of structural changes in the economy of the selected pilot regions of Russia of various types and the main mechanisms of their state support. The proposed approach is recommended for information and methodological support of state regulation of spatial development of Russia, increasing its effectiveness.
