Abstract:
This paper investigates how residential real estate brokerage firms’ financial performance is influenced by Internet usage in Nanjing, China. With a data set of 7200 observations gathered from Nanjing, empirical tests are performed to find out whether there is a relation between Internet usage and financial performance. Factor analysis is utilized to determine the effect of Internet usage. Empirical results indicate that Internet usage is positively and highly associated with real estate brokerage firms’ revenue, profit and net margin. This paper provides evidence that Internet usage could help to enhance residential real estate brokerage firms’ profitability and income.
