Abstract:
An attempt is made to model the distribution of partitions (party walls) and built-form arrays within the entropy maximization and information minimizing formalism for the ninety-five kilometre-square cells used to record the town of Reading, England. In both cases the relationship has the form of a power distribution which expresses an equilibrium between, first, the supply of built forms and the ‘demand’ made by partitions and, second, between the supply of built forms and partitions and the ‘demand’ by the arrays.
