The Extent of Participation in Skill Development Trainings and Its Impact on Employment

Abstract: The extent of participation in skill development training and its impact on employment are examined, based on primary data collected from 200 households in Dibang Valley, Arunachal Pradesh. It is found that participation in skill development training helps with employment in the non-farm sector. However, in terms of employment and income generation, one-year-long skill development training was found to be more effective than less-than-a-year-long training.
