Reflections on a Decade of Evaluation of Micro-finance and Livelihood Projects from a Gender and Equity Lens

Abstract: This article reflects on 10 years of experience in evaluating micro-finance and livelihood development projects from a gender perspective. It suggests a framework for gendered evaluation design and offers tools that have been useful in that type of evaluation. The article also reflects on gender tensions in the evaluation process and suggests the need to place issues of justice at the centre of evaluation design, tools and process.
