HRD in Public Sector Undertakings: New Directions

Sheela Singh

Management and Labour Studies, 2003, vol. 28, issue 1, 37-46

Abstract: “Government Culture†is an area to which any government servant aware of Human Resource Development will have to pay particular attention. Over the years, systems might have been developed which discouraged creativity. The constant pressure of rules and fear of audit may encourage doing things correctly rather than doing the correct things. Human Resources Development may be broadly taken to include Management Education, Leadership, Training, Management Development and the problems of mobilizing the gross-roots, the lay worker, for meeting the challenges of change and innovation. Everyone should feel responsibility to carry on HRD activities in his/her existing capacity.
