Abstract:
Competency enhancement is undertaken for business needs, aligning behaviours with business strategies and for integration of HR systems based on competencies. Managers of organizations face the globalization of business, rapid technological change, continual reorganizing and competence-based competition. These developments challenge the skills, competencies and capabilities of managers in organizations. In the light of these dynamic changes, managers’ competencies also need to be renewed and reviewed on a regular basis in order to improve their performance. This article has tried to analyze whether there is a high conformity between the rating patterns, in respect of performance, of individuals and their reporting heads based on competencies specified; it also tried to find out whether: non-core technical competencies can significantly predict the performance level of the individual.
