Abstract:
In order to sustain or stay competitive in the world markets, a firm's management needs to shift towards a more specific and sharper strategic focus. An attempt has been made here to find out the strategy formulation and implementation with core competencies. The study is based on the Flexible Systems Methodology and conducted through interviews. Two organisations have been taken for this purpose and cases have been developed for each organization. The study reveals that there is a need for proper understanding of core competencies and flexible approach of organizations to make the concept more effective. The core competence perspective must be the central subject of corporate strategy.
