Strategic Learning: A Key to Competitive Strategy

A.M. Shah Dr

Paradigm, 1999, vol. 3, issue 2, 28-37

Abstract: Despite strategic teaming being an important management technique by which companies can achieve excellence in business performance, many organisations Jail to keep learning and are unable to use learning as a competitive weapon. In order to outperform and outmanoeuvre their competitor's, organisations need to learn co1ztinuously and quickly. This article provides guidance to Indian organisations for enhancing the effectiveness of their strategic learning processes. It is argued that the success of strategic learning depends upon developing and sharing knowledge throughout the organisation, creating a suitable teaming culture and speeding up the learning processes for learning and utilizing the new knowledge faster than competitors. However, this calls for commitment, enthusiasm and initiative at the individual, team and corporate level.
