Abstract:
India's Distance Education (DE) institutions have been around for over 35 years. We see a paradigm shift in the perceptions of people who have taken to DE in large numbers for social and economic reasons in a continuous exercise called lifelong learning . As our national resources are limited, our conventional education systems cannot meet this demand. Spurred by a variety of non-conventional media like floppies, CD and computers, DE has met this need, to some extent.
