Abstract:
The analysis and measurement of prodllctivity at the enterprise and plant level has proved to be very useful for the planners, management, and employees of a company. The successful management of productivity has contributed to cost reduction , profit maximisation and the shareholder value-addition . Thus, a micro-level study on productivity would go a long way to highlight the bottlenecks and causes which act as impediments for higher productivity. In this paper, an attempt has been made to make a plant level study in a manufacturing company with the objective of analysing the factors which act as deterrent for better productivity and , therefore , hinder the future growth of the enterprise.
