The influence of the mass media on delusions: The Russia-Ukraine war as a delusional topic

Abstract: We present the case of a 42-year-old female patient with a diagnosis of schizophrenia who, 24 hours after the onset of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, developed a delirium on this topic. This case report illustrates how current news is processed by psychotic patients. Relevant current events can be incorporated into delusional themes due to the intensity and immediacy of information by the media.
