Abstract:
An assessment index of international tourism hubs is developed based on a comprensive literature review. The index includes 49 indicators covering three primary functions: gathering and distributing; transferring; and management and service. The study surveyed a panel of 15 tourism experts and applied the analytical hierarchy process to determine the importance weight of each indicator in the assessment index. Data were transformed to have dimensionless quantities for assessment indicators. Strategic and managerial implications and suggestions are provided based on the results.
