Applicability and Efficiency in a Land Use Plan Design Model: An Input-Output Linear Programming Approach

Abstract: The paper proposes a comprehensive land use forecasting model which is to be used in designing land use plans. An attempt is made to develop a model structure which will be more attractive to planners in actually using the model. In addition, and perhaps more importantly, a new teclmiqne is introduced which allocates land based on the fundamental definition of economic efficiency; that is, land is allocated to uses until the marginal value products of all competing uses are equal.
