Abstract: In India, Public Sector was created to accelerate the growth of economy. But public sector enterprises have failed to accomplish this mission. There are several reasons for the ineffective functioning of public sector in the country. Recently Government of India has introduced certain economic reforms which have opened the Indian economy to the multinationals. To ensure survival and excellence, government organisations should follow private sector organisations and meet the challenges of multinational economy effectively.
