Agriculture and Development Notes, 2016, vol. 6, No 4, 2 pages
Abstract:
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) drafted a Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity (MPAC) in 2010 which spelled out priority projects derived from primary accomplishments with extensive and direct effects on ASEAN Connectivity. The most significant are completion of missing linkages in ASEAN’s highway network and upgrading of the Transit Transport Routes. A coordinating committee was formed to submit continuing reports regarding the progress and problems encountered in the Master Plan’s execution. Consultations are made with all stakeholders (private sector, communities and industry groups) on a regular basis. In essence, MPAC is considered the leading project to bring to fruition a closer and more comprehensive Southeast Asian region.
