Abstract: The paper considers issues of transformations in communications industry, namely, in Svyazinvest company. The author stresses, that to compete with new emerged companies in the industry, Svyazinvest needs radical reorganization. The paper discusses two alternative ways of reorganization of Svyazinvest: transformation into related holding company or into unitary company, and considers advantages and disadvantages of each form of reorganization.
