Abstract: Этнические проблемы правового положения и благосостояния национальных меньшинств актуальны для Российской Федерации. Особое внимание обращено на тяжелое современное социально-экономическое положение малочисленных коренных народов Севера и предложены возможные пути его улучшения.Legal and welfare problems of ethnic minorities do exist in the Russian Federation. Special attention is drawn to poor social and economic conditions of not numerous native northern population groups. Ways to improve the situation are proposed.
