Abstract: The article considers the procedures involved in the establishment of a single, integrated financial regulatory body in the EU; it analyses various approaches to the definition of a financial conglomerate in the EU countries. The author also examines the European experience of regulatory authorities reform, including the establishment of a single, integrated oversight body, which is independent from the central bank and is able to control all the financial markets and intermediaries. The author defines the role of interstate supervision over financial conglomerate in the EU and evaluates potential results from the establishment of a supranational global financial regulatory body. In conclusion the author analyses the conditions for the establishment of a single, integrated financial supervision body in the Russian economic environment.
