Abstract: The article examines the concept of money from the points of view of various economic theories. The author makes an attempt to update the concept by taking into account the current economic trends, which changed the traditional notion of money and currency circulation. The article appeals to a large audience, including postgraduate and undergraduate students interested in the latest developments of the economic theory.
