Abstract: The author studies the influence of the sources of financing on the amount of science funding. He analyses the economic reasons for the effect that the share of business enterprises in the funding of science has on the amount of outlay for research and development. Statistical approach is used to show direct relation between the rate of total intramural expenditures on science and the share of business in its funding. The author groups countries according to intensity of this relation.
