Abstract: The article examines the role of export credit agencies (ECAs) in the funding of the international trade. ECAs are state financial institutions which provide guarantees or insurance for domestic corporations which intend to export goods or services. For a Russian bank the opportunity to provide funding of foreign trade contracts in partnership with ECAs is definitely a competitive advantage in the attraction of clients involved in foreign economic activity.
