Abstract: The article examines the issues involved in the industrial development of ethnic constituents of the Russian Federation, as well as the impact of the economic reform period on the industrial development of republics within Russian Federation. The author shows a considerable drop in production in most republics as a result of economic reforms. The author considers the feasibility of merging the national constituents of the Russian Federation as one of the possible solutions.
