Abstract: В статье показан опыт создания ряда ведущих зарубежных университетов в 60-70 е годы и названы характерные черты их деятельности: связь подготовки кадров, R&D и их применение в инновационных процессах. На фоне реформирования системы образования в РФ рассмотрены параллели в деятельности зарубежных университетов и возникшего в аналогичный период НГУ, касающиеся роли образования в экономике знаний. The article describes the experience of creating a number of leading universities in the 1960–1970s and identified the characteristics of their activities: communication training, R & D and their application in the innovation process. Against the background of the reform of the education system in the Russian Federation considered the parallels in the work of foreign universities and emerged in the same period of the NSU, the role of education in the knowledge economy.
