Abstract:
The aim of this study is to analyze the factors that explain the presence of women in working life, economic, political and social organizations in Spain and other countries in Europe, Eurasia and America. For this purpose we use indicators of the United Nations on gender equality and other indicators related to educational level of population and economic development. We also analyzed the insufficient presence of women in the media and other social areas where there are still severe restrictions on equal opportunities and we highlight the need to promote policies that contribute simultaneously to improve social welfare, gender equality and the female participation in leadership in social leadership.
