L'immigrée italienne sur le marché du travail suisse. Le cas du canton de Vaud
Marina Marengo
Swiss Journal of Economics and Statistics (SJES), 1993, vol. 129, issue III, 385-399
Abstract:
The italian woman, socialized in the role of wife and mother, was not prepared, once emigrated to Switzerland, for a productive activity. Nowadays, she is still torn between two cultures that do not allow her to feel either "at home" or a stranger. The difficulties linked to this blurred identity are particularly experienced when the immigrant has to accomplish a personal choice and/or when the economic circumstances advantage women that have not had to suffer from this situation.
