Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to determine the principle components of the married women's labour supply in Switzerland. The analysis is based on a static microeconomic model of labour supply inspired by HECKMAN's model (1976) with linear functions. The model adds up to a dichotomic system of simultaneous equations. It distinguishes two cases defined by the participation choice. In order to estimate this model we apply HECKMAN's two stage method to cross-section data. The data was taken from the study E.S.P.A. Globally, the results of the estimations confirm the intuition.
